Is it really only the chicken?
When your dog develops symptoms while eating a chicken or other meat based food, the meat is the most obvious ingredient to blame. But the name on the front of the bag rarely tells the whole story.
Most dog foods are complex recipes containing multiple animal proteins, grains, fats, flavorings, and other ingredients. Switching from chicken to salmon or lamb changes much more than the named meat. If your dog improves, the change may have helped—but it still does not prove that chicken was responsible.
