Step 1 — Collect saliva from both cheeks

Hold the swab by the plastic shaft. Insert it through the corner of your dog’s mouth into the cheek pocket between the inner cheek and the outside of the teeth and gums. Swab one cheek for 10–15 seconds, then repeat on the opposite cheek.
